SCANNED STATEMENT GUIDE

From a Scanned PDF to a Reviewable Spreadsheet

  1. Choose a complete PDF. Keep all statement pages, including the opening and closing balance. Large files show Processing and continue in the background.
  2. Let your browser read the pages. Scanned pages use English-language OCR. Pages with selectable text are read directly, without OCR.
  3. Check the extracted rows. Compare dates, amounts, descriptions and transaction counts with the original PDF. Resolve flagged rows before exporting.
  4. Download Excel or CSV. Excel separates transactions, the statement summary and review notes into sheets. CSV includes these as three sections in one file.

Which Scans Work Best?

Use clear, upright pages with readable transaction text and full page edges. Avoid shadows, glare, strong compression and pages where columns overlap. If the bank offers an original PDF download, use that instead of scanning a printed copy.

The current OCR model reads English. The converter focuses on US bank statement layouts; it does not promise support for every bank or language. Check the tested bank format notes.

What to Check After OCR

Follow the conversion error checklist if a result looks incomplete or inconsistent.

Processing Time and Privacy

OCR runs on your device and can take longer than reading a native PDF. The time depends on page count, image quality and available device resources. Keep the tab open until processing finishes.

Your statement is not sent to a remote OCR provider. Choosing a file opens it in this browser session. Read how statement processing works.

Common Questions

Can I select a JPG or PNG?

Yes. Upload a PDF, JPG, or PNG. Free conversion reads the file on your device. Remaining paid pages keep that local pass, and only call AI if local recognition cannot reconcile the statement.

Does it work with blurry or handwritten statements?

Blurry scans may produce incorrect or missing fields. Rescan the original at a clearer quality where possible. Handwritten statement recognition is not a supported capability.

Do I need an account?

No. Convert one statement at a time for free, then review and download the result in your browser.
